Your tutor Tim Hall has over 15 years experience teaching all levels. Basic materials are provided; there is also an excellent Art shop in Penzance. For the non-painting partner we can recommend Golf, fishing, yoga, surfing,boating, all available nearby. The area is also suited to the walker and photographer.

Henrietta Graham is the artist in resident at Rose Farm, whilst not a teacher she is available for friendly chats with tea about all manner of things relating to painting. Graham is an accomplished artist who has exhibited internationally;

She has completed seven paintings for Gordon Ramsey's restaurant at Claridges and most recently a portrait of the hairy Bikers of BBC2's popular travelling chefs. Henrietta and Tim are married.

Below is a list of the painting holiday courses that run all year around. In the Wintertime Tim Hall will place the emphasis on studio work such as Portrait Painting and general Painting skills/techniques. There is more to Cornwall than summer and sandy beaches! Enjoy learning and working in our bespoke warm studio, making friends, log fires, cosy pub evenings and stunning walks. Summer painting courses are based more outside, weather permitting!.

Sometimes you may have a very strong idea of what you wish to obtain from your painting holiday. Tim is very flexible and experienced in a broad range of mediums and subject matter - just ask! These holidays are not restricted to just painters, non painting partners will find an abundant array of activities nearby such as yoga, golf, surfing, fishing, hiking or just lying on one of the many beautiful beaches, come on your own or with friends. However, class sizes are restricted to a maximum of six.

For the beginner or more accomplished painter these courses are designed to benefit and inspire all. Tim hall has taught in London and Esher for over ten years and is fully qualified in a multitude of media. Henrietta Graham exhibits internationally and has been commissioned by such a luminaries as Gordon Ramsey (there are ten of her paintings at his restaurant in Claridges)…she also makes a legendary fish pie.
A comprehensive tutelage in all aspects of painting and drawing is available.
Cornwall has long been regarded as a haven for the painter with panoramic coastal views, coves, caves, valleys and woodlands. Marine subjects are abundant with Newlyn and St Ives nearby. (pop into the Tate Gallery or the Barbara Hepworth museum to see the wealth of creative talent Cornwall has to offer.)
